prize giving ceremony-floria 2010, Putrajaya

i woke up at 7 and picked up ija from her house. drove to putrajaya and we reached there at about 7.45 am.
it was still early so we decided to take a little walk and shoot some flowers.at 8.04 am, i received a text message from the organizer that the prize giving ceremony was postponed until 11am, from the proposed 9.30 am. an hour and a half delay. this was due to a cycling event and they had to give way for their event to finish.
i didn't mind waiting as i got some pretty good shots of flowers and some not so good macro shots of insects.
here are some of the pictures that i want to share with you guys. enjoy :)

 a week has passed and the flowers are still fresh.

to regulate the temperature,  water is constantly sprayed.

this is also to avoid the flowers from wilting.

he's fine. no serious injuries there.

first try on panning. needs more practice, obviously.

on the way to get some food, i noticed this particular tree that has red ants all over it.

and on our way back to wait for the prize-giving ceremony, i found this little spider

getting ready for lunch.

the next couple of pictures will be of  flowers. i don't know the names.

although i didn't win or qualify for 2nd or 3rd, i did receive a cert and also RM100. for a first-timer entering a photography competition, i'm proud of what i have achieved and i'll strive for a higher ranking next time :)

at least i made my mistakes and i've learned from it. experience was the grand prize for me.

four more photography competitions coming up, and i will be more prepared after this :D
