today's preception of beauty: a mere illusion?

define the word 'beauty'. that's a tough one. when you think of beauty, it's often associated with your body figure, how your face looks and so on. is that your perception of beauty?
when you see a woman without her makeup, you define her as 'dull'. so does that mean the minute she is born, she's 'dull'?
define the process to become beautiful. liposuction? boob jobs? extreme diets?
then, Adobe Photoshop was introduced. that's when meaning of the word beauty was altered forever.
what you see in the media is just an illusion yet you try so hard to be like one of the models on tv, even if it means starving to death or going to the specialists for a total makeover which costs $$$.

let's start with a video, shall we?

there's your perception of beauty right there. makeups and the most important tool of all, photoshop.
unfortunately, photoshop is a virtual tool. but they don't tell you that. they show you girls like the one you just saw on the video on television to convince you that you too can look like that.
wow, so there's actually a product that can enhance your neck just likewhat we saw on the video? get real.
so after the media has all the suckers who fell for the ads in their grasps, they start filling your brain with products that can guarantee you that you'll look beautiful.
which includes going under the knife and eat liquid food for the rest of your lives. i'm sure that's every girl's dream, to undergo multiple surgeries, endure pain and eat old people's food

a mother once confessed that her 11 year old child is actually on an extreme diet so that she could look like the girls on tv. what a messed-up world we live in.

if you're not happy with your body, you will feel that way for the rest of your life. and along the way, you'll do something stupid that you will surely regret.

moral of the story? be happy with what you got. there's nothing wrong with getting skin products, make ups and new clothes. but going under the knife and not eating? isn't that going too far?
