alternatives to removing ISO noise

noise is definitely not welcomed in the world of photography. noise is referred to as the grain-like effect in a picture. noise can easily be spotted in a picture using a substantial amount of ISO (eg, IS0 1600 and above) especially in the under-exposed areas.
there are a number of ways to reduce, if possible, eliminate noise using your camera or your photo-editing softwares.
if you are the type that is not too keen on post-processing methods, you can always take shots with reduced noise simply by:
  • switching from auto ISO to the smallest number that suits your environment (ISO 100, 200)
  • decrease your aperture value to a minimum. (< or f 2.7 )
  • decrease your shutter speed value according to your surroundings. (< or 1/60)
  • alternatively, you always have the option to use flash.
TAKE NOTE that the challenge will be greater at night due to the absence of light. in this case, flash is NECESSARY. always use a diffuser to reduce and soften the intensity of your flash. if you are the DIY cheapo type of person, just use a white paper and hold it in front your flash to soften the light.
